Dr. Edward Njoo, Chair of the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at ASDRP and leading original research in the areas of Synthetic Organic Chemistry, Medicinal Chemistry, took a group of his high school student researchers to present their reseracher posters the Sage Undergraduate Research Conference at CSU Channel Islands on Saturday, May 4, 2024.
Over 150 original research posters were on display during the research conference.
Dr. Njoo's student researchers:
Grace Yu, Arshia Desarkar, Terry Wang, Jennifer Luo presented their original research during the poster session: "Synthesis and Anti-Inflammatory Activity of Prodrugs of Dexamethasone and Related Fluorinated Corticosteroid Analogs"
Grace Yu presented her poster during the final poster session of the day "Synthesis, Biological Evaluation, and Structure-Activity Relationship of Diversified C-4 Analogs of Podophyllotoxin as Tubulin Inhibitors".
"Our core mission is to develop strong student scientists who understand, apply and communicate their research effectively and professionally" said Dr. Njoo. "It's a privilege for my student researchers to attend and present their poster". ASDRP is very proud of the student's work and the future direction of their ongoing research.
